In 2013 she had a Hawthornden Castle Fellowship, and she was the Randell Cottage Creative New Zealand Writer in Residence, 2021, and the Mike Riddell Writer in Residence, Otago, 2023. She completed a Ph.D in Creative Writing through Massey University. Lynn teaches creative writing.
